AUDENTES FORTUNA IUVAT

Lord Sokoła Południowski

Dzień dobry! I'm Sokoła Południowski, Bard Captain in the Twin Adders and native of Gridania. These days I spend my time traveling, adventuring, socializing, and tending to my thriving business ventures in Ishgard and the Cieldalaes, enjoying life in the reserves, but I'm also a decorated veteran of the Eorzean Alliance campaign in the Gyr Abanian theater. Let's enjoy a drink and a chat together sometime!

AMOR VINCIT OMNIA

Autobiography

Born to szlachta in an immigrant town at the foot of the Coerthas mountains along the plains, I was given as much opportunity in education and apprenticeship as could be afforded. My father trained me in the ways of the spear while my mother taught me conjuration, my paternal grandfather passing on the heavy armored techniques of the hussars. It's said that my grandmother was a bard of some renown, in a nation lost to Garlemald in West Ilsabard. In addition I was given an Ishgardian education and taught a variety of subjects. I was also personally tutored by a traveling Red Mage, and thus was able to delve into the Red, White, and Black schools of magic, and naturally complimented my training in swordsmanship. It was also in Ishgard where I met a mysterious figure who introduced me to a dark form of knighthood, which forever altered me and changed the course of my life.My military career with the Adders was fairly straightforward. Although Równin are renowned for our heavy cavalry, my training was specialized in Light Infantry tactics as a Bard Ranger within my Równin-Gridanian regiment. Initially set to patrol the Twelveswood for a time, my career in peacekeeping came to an end with the fall of Baelsar's Wall, and thus being thrust into combat. For many months I fought the Garleans, earning my medals and putting my training to good use, culminating in the Battle of Ghimlyt Dark, where some of the fiercest fighting took place. It was during this campaign that I met a Xaela by the name of Chakha Qalli, a La Noscean under the Maelstrom banner, with whom I had since become close friends with.
During my second and most recent campaign I marched into Ilsabard proper with the Ilsabard contingent, though I never made it all the way to Garlemald as I and the rest of my peers broke off to assist the resistance in the land of my father and grandfather. After we succeeded in the last push for independence, and coordinating in reconstruction efforts, I returned home a decorated hero, rotated into the reserves with a well-earned rest.
In civilian life I've worked diligently to increase my standing and reputation, acquiring land and engaging in various business ventures, as well as socializing and going on adventures. I've picked up the odd job entertaining and bartending to spice things up a bit too, and all in all I'm happy. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for me.
